Web applications built around how your business actually works
When off-the-shelf software almost fits but makes you work its way, a web application built for your business fits properly. I build secure web applications your staff and customers use in the browser, from customer portals and booking systems to internal tools and dashboards, along with the APIs and integrations that connect them to your other systems. One senior developer covers architecture, back end, front end, hosting and launch.
Sound familiar?
- Off-the-shelf software almost fits, but forces your business to work its way
- Work runs on spreadsheets and email that no longer cope
- You need a secure web app your staff or customers can log into and use
- Separate systems don't talk to each other, so data is re-keyed by hand
What you get
- Paid discovery workshop, then a written scope and cost estimate
- A production web application: accounts, roles, your data and workflows, and an admin area
- APIs and integrations so it works with the systems you already run
- Cloud hosting, CI/CD, backups and monitoring set up in your own accounts
- Full source code and ownership: no lock-in
Ways to work together
Every engagement starts with a small, paid, fixed-price first step. That's where requirements are gathered and the scope and cost estimate for the rest of the work are written, so you know what you're committing to.
Discovery & scope
from £1,500
Workshop, user flows, technical architecture and a cost estimate for the build.
Build
Estimated during discovery
Delivered in stages against the written scope, so you see progress and keep control of the cost.
Ongoing care
from £195 / month
Hosting, updates, security and small improvements on a monthly care plan.
Common questions
What kinds of web applications do you build?
Customer portals, booking and ordering systems, internal business tools, dashboards and reporting, and the admin areas behind them. They run in the browser, so staff and customers use them on any device without installing anything.
How much does a web application cost?
A paid discovery and scope starts from £1,500. The build itself is estimated during discovery, once the scope is written down, so you decide with a real figure in front of you rather than a guess. Ongoing care starts from £195 a month.
Do you build the APIs and integrations too?
Yes. Most business web applications need to exchange data with other systems: payment providers, accounting, CRMs, suppliers or internal databases. I build the APIs and integrations that connect them, so the same data isn't re-keyed by hand.
Who owns the code and the hosting?
You do. Hosting, source control and third-party accounts are set up in your name, and you get the full source code, so you can bring the work in-house or move to another developer whenever you choose.
What do you build web applications with?
ASP.NET Core and C#, Node.js, and Vue.js on the front end, hosted on Azure or AWS. The choice follows what the job needs and what your team can maintain, not the other way round.
Is this the same as building a SaaS product?
It's closely related. If you're building a product to sell to customers, SaaS and MVP development is the better fit. This service is for web applications your own business runs on.
